Do Catholic Charismatics Really Speak In Tongues?

I’ve always found it difficult to accept and believe Charismatic Catholics speaking in tongues that sound like Aliens communicating with us or channeling them. When I first attended such an event one of the ladies held their hands on her knees and started going “yammynammynamnam” and I remember thinking this can’t be real. The way St.Paul spoke and how they allude to the tongues in the Bible always meant they were speaking in different native languages. This is why St.Paul says unless someone can interpret what they’re saying it will just sound like nonsense.

Have you ever seen someone interpret what they say? I don’t think he was alluding to the ramblings we hear from Catholic charismatics today. I also recall my Father and spiritual master of the monastery tell me he didn’t believe in it either. Nobody did it for centuries and then all of a sudden people start going, “yammy nammy nam nam” in the 1960’s after Vatican II and we are all led to believe this is authentic.

St.Paul was referring to those who speak in the Spirit alluding to the fact that some speak in such high spiritual terms no newcomer to the faith or those weak in the faith can understand him. It requires someone of similar character to translate what it is he means or is saying. Take for example Jesus parables, he had to translate it for the apostles so they’d get what he was on about. Very few understood Him. There are those in the Church who when they speak, to a newcomer it’s all nonsense until someone fleshes it out for them. This is what it means to speak in tongues which is to say it’s a higher language not of the world. It’s a far cry from “shamma bakka lakka nakka” that’s for sure.

I must admit that centuries ago they did do this but it was a sect known as Montanism which I feel resembles mostly the Charismatic order in the Church today. It was a sect that the great early Church father Tertullian ended up leaving the faith for. I do believe the Charismatic order/movement was inspired by God but like with everything else there’s a few charlatans in it and it gets hijacked by the devil.

It’s funny because the same people who practice these alien type tongues also contend with the faith and morals of the Church and are quite progressive in their theology. They’re also old and there’s a reluctance to let the bygone hippy Vatican II era go. That was my experience of the charismatics here in my town the head of which believes women can be priests and contraception is acceptable. They also seem to attract nuns that dress in civvies have short hair and look like lesbian social workers rather than religious sisters.

I recall one nun walking us around the house in procession with one of those Tibetan meditation bowls ringing it out and I was like. . . “What are we doing? This is mental”. šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚I was waiting for her to start singing, “this is the dawning of the age of Acquarius” šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

The Catholic Church is in some state let me tell ya!!! Somebody needs to give it a massive slap and bring it back to the true dimension. The video below sums up the Charismatic order in the Catholic Church, at least where I live. What has your experience been of them? Let me know in the comments.
