“With the truth of the Gospel, one cannot negotiate. Either you receive the Gospel as it is, as it was announced, or you receive any other thing. But you cannot negotiate with the Gospel. One cannot compromise. Faith in Jesus is not a bargaining chip: it is salvation, it is encounter, it is redemption. It cannot be sold off cheaply…. The Gospel is Christ’s gift to us, He Himself revealed it to us. It is what gives us life.”
For those of you who follow the blog, check out my amazing story regarding truth which is an article that precedes this one. In it St.John describes how truth cannot be negotiated with. This morning I received this nice quote by Pope Francis. I get one every day in inbox now for the last 3 years. Again, we see the Holy Spirit reaching out to me regarding truth.
I chose this image for the Pope because it’s him at his most genuine. Nothing fancy, no big cars or ceremony. He’s everything a Pope should be and demonstrates what the truth actually looks like. God bless our Pope.
